Angel Reese, LSU star forward, declares for WNBA draft: Breaking News

The 21-year-old Reese and the LSU Tigers’ NCAA title hopes were dashed on Monday after they fell to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Elite Eight.

The WNBA requires players to declare their intention to participate in the draft by April 1. College players competing in the Elite Eight or later have 48 hours after their final game to declare for the draft and renounce their NCAA eligibility.

She had until Wednesday night to announce her plans. She had the option to stay at LSU for one more season under the COVID-19 waiver, but she will now take her talents to the WNBA.

The 15th of April is the date for the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Reese since transferring to LSU from Maryland in 2022 dominated college basketball. The veteran won a national championship in his first year in Baton Rouge and was named to the first team All-American and the 2023 NCAA Tournament of Excellence.

She averaged 23 points, 15.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.


Reese scored 20 double goals in 33 regular season games and averaged 18.6 points and 13.4 rebounds per game.

He recorded seven more double-doubles in the NCAA Tournament, including 17 points and 20 rebounds in the loss to Iowa. He had seven more doubles in the NCAA Tournament.
