The couple tied the knot earlier this month in Palm Coast, Florida, surrounded by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Seventy years after they first fell for each other, a pair of classmates from the 1950s have tied the knot.
Elaine Hall and Roland Passaro spoke with the Washington Post on Thursday about their decades-in-the-making wedding, after they wed in front of their children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren in Palm Coast, Fla. It’s a busy month.
The newlyweds, both 88 years old, attended middle and high school in Allentown, Pa., where they grew up blocks apart. They reunited at their high school class’s 50th reunion in 2003, but decided to get married just months ago after they decided to get married.

The Post spoke with Passaro, 88, about his childhood crush-turned-wife, whom he used to dance with at YMCA parties. The smartest girl in the class knew the answer to every question.
Hall remembers that Rowland was handsome, a star actor, and all the girls liked him. He likes me, that’s a good thing.
While Passaro acknowledged that he was too young to be stable with anyone at that age, he eventually got married, had children, played professional baseball, and eventually joined a Miami-based airline, according to the Post.
Hall, on the other hand, stuck around, got married and divorced, had three kids of her own, and eventually retired at the age of 66.

After battling cancer for four years, Suzanne Passaro passed away, and his son John passed away a year earlier.
Hall recalled that Passaro’s family talked him into attending the high school reunion in 2003 where they reconnected with his family.
Hall told the Washington Post that there was an attraction between him and Hall that night. He leaned over and gave me a kiss when I went over to say goodbye.
The wedding of Elaine Hall and Roland Passaro took place on June 25, 1978.
Hall called it a magical time when the pair kept in touch via letters and calls for months.
The outlet reports that Hall eventually relocated to Miami after spending Christmas there with her partner.
Both of us value family, according to Passaro. Devoted to our kids, grandkids and now our great-grandkids.
Hall tells Passaro where his ball lands because he can’t see very well, according to his son James Passaro.

The Washington Post reported that Passaro was Hall’s rock through the toughest period of her life.
After his soon-to-be wife asked why they hadn’t tied the knot yet, Passaro said, “Let’s do it,” in October 2023. Passaro was joined by his sons James and Ron.
A nephew planned the wedding that James Passaro called “the end of a great story.” Elaine Hall and Roland Passaro also attended.
Their first dance was to “Kansas City,” a 1950s hit from the era they first danced together. The Washington Post reported that they hold a special place in their hearts for their first big crush.
The thing about getting older is that very few people remember you when you were younger. Rollie was the vibrant young fellow who could throw a ball as far as the eye could see, and I remember him as that.
Passaro explained, “And I remember how beautiful and exciting she was when she was 15, and I can say that she’s just as beautiful and exciting today.” Passaro added.
