One thing Kendrick always does well is make his lyrics feel personal. On “Squabble Up,” he talks about how many of our fights start in our own minds. One of my favorite lines is, “Every fight starts in the shadow of your own mind.”
It’s such a simple way to explain something we all go through but rarely talk about. Kendrick doesn’t just rap about problems, he makes you think about how to solve them, or at least better understand them.

The production on “Squabble Up” is as thoughtful as the lyrics. The beat has this slow, steady vibe that keeps the song going. It feels like it’s leading you into the story Kendrick is telling. It’s not too flashy, which is perfect because it keeps the focus on the message. But it’s still catchy enough to keep you nodding your head the entire time.
